Radioamateurs

The activities of radioamateurs are recognised internationally and separate frquency bands are allocated to their operation. Radioamateurs are also permitted to build communications equipment for own use. General rules about the marketing of radiocommunications equipment do as a rule not apply to radioamateur equipment.

Electronic Communications Office of Iceland (ECOI) issues certificates for radioamateurs that have passed the set examinations. (N- and G-licenses).
